If your abs pump seems to be running after every few steps on the brake pedal or if your car has a hard brake pedal, more than likely your accumulator ball has failed. There's a rubber bladder inside the ball that deteriorates over time more than from actual use. If you still hear your abs pump running but still have a hard brake pedal or abs light comes on, most likely the accumulator ball is the culprit. .
