These feature the extra long threads on the top end of the stud to allow for the extra 1/4" thickness of the girdle plate, shims and hold down nuts. Normally, 8 of these are required for a complete engine, the rear (#5) main cap uses standard length studs since longer studs are impossible to use in this location due to the interference with the rear seal cap.
